Golf has taken me on an incredible journey—from South Africa to the United States—and one thing has never changed: my passion for helping kids discover a love for the game.
I’m a South African PGA Professional, certified since 2006, and I began my coaching career at a busy golf facility in Cape Town where I coached more than 100 junior golfers every week. Those early years taught me that great coaching is about far more than teaching a golf swing—it’s about building confidence, character, and a lifelong love of learning.
One of the greatest honors of my career was having the opportunity to teach the President of South Africa, but my biggest achievements have always been watching young golfers grow into successful young adults.
After moving to the United States, I continued my passion for junior golf development, coaching at various golf courses and practice facilities. I’ve helped junior golfers earn opportunities to compete at the college level, while others have gone on to play professionally. One accomplishment I’m especially proud of was growing a junior program from just 7 students to more than 75 young golfers, creating a thriving community of players and families.
For me, junior golf is about much more than birdies and trophies. It’s about teaching respect, discipline, perseverance, confidence, and sportsmanship—life skills that stay with kids long after the final putts drop.
I’m excited to begin a new chapter at Mystic Hills Golf. My goal is to create a fun, positive, and inspiring environment where juniors can learn the game, build friendships, and develop the skills they’ll use both on and off the golf course. Whether your child is picking up a club for the very first time or dreams of playing competitive golf, I’d love to be part of their journey. Matt Gotto is a PGA Life Member with over 32 years of experience in the golf industry, specializing in golf instruction. He began his professional journey at Riverside Golf Club in Cambridge Springs, Pennsylvania, and then moved to Card Sound Golf Club in Key Largo, Florida, before honing his skills at Chartiers Country Club in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he earned his PGA Membership in 1994.
Matt later took on the role of Teaching Professional at Seven Springs Mountain Resort, providing golf lessons to a diverse range of players. He was subsequently appointed Head Professional at Pleasant Valley Country Club in Connellsville, Pennsylvania. During his impressive 12 years at Pleasant Valley, Matt developed successful instructional programs for men, women, and junior golfers, gaining recognition as a Top 30 player in the PGA Tri-State Section.
His career expanded into leadership positions as General Manager and Head Professional at Raven Golf Club in Snowshoe, West Virginia; Head Professional at Treasure Lake Resort’s Gold and Silver Courses in DuBois, Pennsylvania; and most recently, General Manager and Head Professional at Edgewater Golf Club in Lancaster, South Carolina.
Matt is excited to return to his roots, focusing on golf instruction and sharing his passion for the game. He aims to help golfers of all ages enjoy and improve their skills through effective golf lessons and PGA clinics.

B.J. McCranie is a Class-A PGA member with over 18 years of experience in the golf business. He previously served as Head Golf Professional at Idle Hour Club in Macon, GA, and Big Canoe in Jasper, GA. His contributions were key to the success of the nationally recognized Blum Golf Learning Center at Idle Hour Club, as well as enhancing the golf instruction program at Big Canoe, where he taught players of all ages and skill levels. A graduate of the University of Georgia, he earned a Bachelor’s in Science and Education, majoring in Recreation and Leisure Studies. Throughout his career, B.J. has been honored by his peers, receiving accolades such as the 2012 PGA Central Chapter Assistant Golf Professional of the Year and the 2016 PGA Central Chapter Head Golf Professional of the Year. With a passion for growing the game of golf, he focuses on delivering engaging golf lessons and conducting PGA clinics that make learning enjoyable. B.J. is known for his approachable and genuinely caring personality, and he looks forward to getting to know you and helping you exceed your golfing goals.
